Enjoying the summertime weather doesn’t mean you should have to sacrifice smelling sweet after spending some time in the sun. With an all natural summer sunshine spray made with essential oils, you can protect your skin from harmful rays and smell like a rose (Or, lavender at least, if not a rose!) at the same time.
Let’s be honest, we all need a little bit of those good UV rays while blocking out the bad, but there are so many different kinds of sunscreen on the market it’s hard to choose the best one. Some rub off in the water and others may have harsh chemicals or need to be reapplied too often. Rather than go through all that trouble, make your own using essential oils that contain natural SPF. (Did you know Carrot Seed, which is used in our All Natural Summertime Lotion, has an SPF of 40? Or that Raspberry Seed Oil SPF ranges from 28-50 SPF? How great is that?!)
Choose from a lotion form or read on to learn how to make your own spray sun protectant. Both are a breeze to whip together and they really work!
In this tutorial you’ll learn how to make a spray form of summer lotion that includes both Carrot Seed and Raspberry Seed oil, plus just a few other ingredients to give you a healthy looking glow this sunny season.
Summer Sunshine Spray with Natural SPF
1/4 tsp Vitamin E oil
2 Tablespoon Witch Hazel
1 1/2 tsp Avocado oil
2 tsp Red Raspberry seed Oil
2 tsp Zinc Oxide Powder
6 drops Purification
4 drops Carrot Seed oil
4 drops Peppermint
6 drops Lavender
Combine all the ingredients into a 4 oz glass spray bottle. Amber or blue glass is recommended to keep the sunlight out. Shake vigorously and apply. Mix up multiple batches to give everyone in the family their own spray! Customize your creation with our beautiful Oil Well labels.
